Keep Your Child Safe With Smart Watches for Kids
Have You Ever Lost Your Child?
Last week, I flew to Denver to meet up with one of my oldest friends and past business partner to talk about a new idea of his. Since I love to travel, I jumped at the chance to visit Colorado. On Saturday, we took a break from working to visit Red Rock Park and Amphitheater along with every other person and family in the city, it seemed. Groups of children were running everywhere, bounding up steps and dodging parents. When I wasn’t admiring the mountains, all I could think was “What if one of these kids got separated from their mother?” With the large crowds and surrounding wilderness, a wayward child could easily find themselves very lost.
Fortunately, I’m not the only person to consider this notion. Nowadays, tracking your child is as easy as checking your mobile phone. How? With tech wearables, parents can use smart watches, bracelets and other wearable devices to keep tabs on their children anywhere and at any time. Within the industry, this is called “Digital Parenting”, but I simply call it protecting your children.
Smart Watch Brands are Trending
Brands such as HereO, FiLip, and Tinitell are creating wearables that allow parents to view their child’s location nearly anywhere. Through the use of simple radio waves, GPS, or wi-fi, parents have more information about their child’s whereabouts than ever before. Some devices even allow geo-fencing, a feature which creates an electronic border that alerts parents when their child leaves a specified area. How cool is that? Safe Kids Paxie Band takes it one step further. Their device allows parents to also monitor their children’s ambient temperature, heart rate and more. The built-in activity tracking sensors even monitor how active your child is.
How to Track Your Teenager
The above features are especially great for young children, but what if your child is old enough to have their own phone? In that case, you can skip the step of buying a wearable and sign up for online services such as LociLoci to track their location instead. Your teen probably wouldn’t love this option, but safe is safe.
Choosing a tracking device that best fits your child’s age and needs may seem like an overwhelming task, especially if you aren’t the techie type. So to make it easier for you, we’ve put together a comprehensive guide to children trackers and wearables. Check it out below.
For those who’ve already purchased a wearable for your child, we’d love to hear about your experiences in the comment section below. As for me, I’m going to start planning a kiosk that sells child trackers on top of a Denver mountain! Cha-ching!
